Need info on IL hh

Published

Hello,

I'm in the start up phase of opening a new hh agency in the suburbs of Chicago. My background is in Physical Therapy but I am in the need of nursing information and nurses. Can anyone tell me the average per visit rate? Where would be a good place to post for nursing positions?

Any DON's have any insight?

Any help would be appreciated!

I don't know about the visit rate because I'm in CA and I'm paid per hour, but a good place to place ads would be in the local papers, in nursing mags like Nursing 2007 and AJN, contact travel companies and let them know you're looking for staff.

With your startup capital for your new business, you can get the listing of all RNs and LPNs from your state board (at least in my state), and have postcards printed up and do mass mailings to those in the nearby communities. That's how I found out about one agency that I went to work for. Another, (I think it's free), way to find workers would be to place a posting at the Employment Dept. I've seen lots of good jobs on our state's EDD website. You can also approach local nursing schools and get permission to post flyers and/or attend career days at the schools. Most nursing schools allow employers to post on their student bulletin boards.

Make certain that you are very careful in hiring your Director of Clinical Services and first nursing supervisor. They will be the backbone of your agency regarding nursing matters.
