I am highly interested in being a telephonic, wellness/ health coach.

Background: RN, BSN 10 yrs: Physl rehab nurse 2 yrs, Home H 6 yrs; Private duty sporadic 2013-present.

I am also a licensed physical therapist assistant (LPTA) 23 years w/ adults: ortho & neuro; geriatric mostly. I have been working more as LPTA last 2 years, more than nsg. HH nsg wore me out with the OASIS and documentation endlessly into night. My LPTA pays similar to nursing pay with less documentation and with less stress. But it has physical challenges and no benefits since I contract, and that is the preference in HH.

Currently in nsg, I work prn with post surgical patients that want a private duty nurse and this very sporadic.

I love nursing too. I do use my nursing skills every work day; I case manage, since we have to call DR and HH agency if their is an issue. I assess VS, educate on health and safety issues etc,

I need to be using my Nsg degree more though. Telephonic case management seems ideal. I would rather work onsite,--but some work at home would be okay. I am fine with alternative schedule eg., 12-9pm. I am burnt out coming home to document and scheduling--but love teaching or helping my clients in the home. Telephonic is a preference now.

I live in the Dallas area that employs Cigna, United Healthcare, and BC& BS, and Humana. I know Cigna and UHC have telephonic nursing here for sure.

Any advice outside or inside TX? Which companies have the best work/life balance; supportive team environment; benefits okay?

Cheers or jeers? Positions/titles if there is a position you feel I am suited? coach, case management.

I have read old posts and forums and would like a new 2015 perspective.
