Need help studying Anatomy Physiology 1

Published

Hi guys,

I am taking AP 1 this semester, on Lab i did very good job, got straight 100s on lab now.

But lecture turns out terrible, i failed for first exam. But i did study, just the exam is not like what in the note and very tricky.

However, i learnt that study the way like summarize ALL OF THE BOOK sometimes it does not help at all. So I am starting using flash cards, WATCH VIDEOS on Youtube and studying Pneumonic.

What do you think about this? Share with me some methods please.

I learn best by repetition (I think most people do). So I take notes in class, and then read the chapter outlines that my professor provides us with. I rewrite my notes to include anything I think is relevant. Then I make flash cards (again, I'm reinforcing what I've learned as I write them). I either make index cards flash cards, or I create my own on Quizlet - but are good options. I also take a look at the learning goals/quizzes at the end of each chapter in my book to make sure I understand the basic concepts. Then I read, reread, reread. Just 20 minutes or so a day.

I also always recommend that students that are struggling sit down and talk to their teachers! Teachers want you to pass, and most are willing to offer additional help, tutoring or tips.

Hi. I'm not sure mnemonics will help with physiology. The thing is you have to understand concepts in order to do well in physiology.

What's been working for me is taking good notes, going over the material we've covered right after class making sure I get it. YouTube videos are helpful. I'm also helping a classmate who's struggling a bit and that's helping me in return. Find a classmate who's doing well and ask her/him if you can study together.

Like the pp mentioned, reach out to your professor, most are willing to help.

And last but not least, do not start studying a few days before your exam. There's just too much material to grasp in a day or two before the exam. Good luck, you can do this!
