Need help - review courses

Published

I took my NCLEX 2 weeks ago and did not pass. I thought I was ready and prepared but I guess not. I placed all my faith in Kaplan and was extremely disappointed when I finished the exam. Not sure where to go from here. I completed over 3,000 questions and I'm not sure what to do now. My motivation is in the basement and I'm soooo confused. Please if anyone can recommend any other review courses or know of a website where they have question bank which my help I would appreciate it.

cszabo10,

i am sorry that you were not successful on the nclex this time. 1st, get your refund back from kaplan! they will try and talk you into extending, get your money back. when you start to prepare your studying again, make a study schedule. some suggest you start over as if you've never tested, but that for me was hard! i focused on some of everything, but the majority of my study time was focused on practice questions and studying my weaker content areas (which show on your report your bon sends you). i also used the prioritization book by linda lacharity and also took the sylvia rayfield & assoc review class (paid for by my employer). it was the best decision i made to attend that class! it was phenomenal!! allnurses.com was also very supportive!!! i wish you all the best as you start to prepare again for the nclex.

Give yourself a couple of days to get over the bad feelings, then sit down and think about how you are going to approach this again. You do not necessarily have to spend money on another review course. Just continue to do questions and study the rationales. As long as you don't give up, you will pass.

give yourself a break first before getting back on track. if u want, have a vacation for about a week, hit the beach (or wherever that could make you feel relax and rejuvenate). if you believe in God, go to church and pray. as of the review materials, i suggest that you buy saunders & la charity (you can also use your kaplan resources if you still have them with u. scan them if u have time and their QBank and Qtrainer are good as well, worth spending time answering). they say they're the best... according to what i have read on this website (allnurses.com) and my friends who passed the nclex-rn. what do u mean that your motivation is in the basement? were you studying/reviewing in your basement? (just curious)
