Child's weight is 4.8 kg. What is the quantity to administer? Round to the nearest tenth.

My answer Correct answer

13.3ml. 1.3ml

First--multiply the dose x the weight in kg so you get 75x4.8 which gives you 360. In three divided doses is 120mg per dose. Then do the math 120/x = 90/1 you get 120=90x, 120/90=x, x=1.3ml

Hope that helps.

75 mg/Kg * 48 Kg/1 * 1 ml/90 mg= 40 ml/day ----> 40 ml/3 doses = 13.3 ml/dose

Oops! Is my answer wrong?...:).....Let's me do it again.

75 mg/Kg * 48 Kg/1 * 1 ml/90 mg= 40 ml/day ----> 40 ml/3 doses = 13.3 ml/dose

You used 48kg instead of 4.8 in your calculations. That's where I think you got the other answer.
