Need help Nursig diag. for Psyc Pt.

THis week we are doing our Psyc. clinicals.

I am at a loss for what nursing diag. to use I need 2.

My Pt has "Mood Disorder"

He came in depressed and he tried to take hos own life.

I did not see his chart yet.

My care plan book did not seem to help.

Any guidenss would be great.

the appendix of taber's cyclopedic medical dictionary and mosby's medical, nursing, & allied health dictionary have suggestions for nursing diagnoses by medical disease or condition if you do not have a care plan book. here are nursing diagnosis suggestions with website help links where they are available:

if you do end up writing a care plan for this patient and use any of these, be sure you have the symptoms to support their use and that you investigated the patient's documented history, particularly in regard to the mood disorder, to correctly identify the etiologies of the diagnoses you use.
