I read in one of the threads here about international midwives. I was wondering if anybody could point me to organizations, preferably charities, that send CNMs overseas in long term missions/clinics. If there is one website or even a dozen websites of these places, please let me know. Also, out of curiosity, are there agencies for int'l CNMs?
Thanks.

How about starting with the ACNM website?
I was blind but now I see. Thanks BETSRN, I didn't see that.
I've checked the site, but I don't see much. They have a "Global Programs" page but there is not much info there. I'm looking for charities, orgs, or missions.
Thanks

I've gotten several emails in the last few weeks from Doctors without Borders - they are currently recruiting CNM's with at least 2 years experience. I believe they are sending midwives mostly to Africa right now.
You can get more info on their website - http://www.doctorswithoutborders.org

Does anyone have any experience outside of NGOs working as midwives in Europe (with US CNM training)? If so, how difficult a path was it to be able to practice?
