need help with ER resume

Hello folks! I am preparing to apply to ER within the system and outside the system. Although I don't have previous ER experiences, my current hospital ED tends to train RNs from different floors when they do internal transfer.

I just need some nice resume that wows the manager so I can have a chance at this. I am very unhappy at m/s floor nursing because it's just not what I want to do, does not fit my personality, and feels so insignificant pushing pills, giving pain meds to people who don't need them, and dealing with mundane complaints. And I am sure that if you have been unhappy at floors, you KNOW how it feels to be unhappy at floors.

If you have any tips on building resume, fire away! Thank you in advance.

your advice was spot on and good. I thank you for it and take advantage of it.
You're welcome...

Just to be clear, however, my advice also included the "nazi" reference... which use you're defending.

I'm donating some small amount of my time in trying to be helpful and you're arguing with what I tell you. Hence, my "take it or leave it" comment. In a sense, my reaction is, "Hey, I've got mine... ain't no skin off my nose if you get yours or not."

One other bit of advice: Regardless of the topic - and regardless of whether you value the input or not - don't argue with people who are offering advice after you've solicited advice. The ED is full of prickly new arrivals who don't want to be told anything... and we generally just let them drown.

A busy ED typifies the "win-as-a-team, lose-as-an-individual" attitude... if it's hard to take feedback without having to justify and minimize, you may struggle even if you do find the job that you covet (which again, to emphasize, I *already* have so it makes sense for you to listen to me...)

Either way, good luck to you and I hope you get off the floor... I was fortunate to do it within a year (right place, right time, right situation) but within my large hospital, none of our floor hires did it in less than 3... and they're some rock-stars.
