I am not real good in math and starting drug cal. The beginning of april. Could someone give me some hints on how to to figure out problems b4 i start class so im not left behind. I dont even know where to start. Math just makes me nervous. Thanks so much.
Ask your instructors or check in the med books. Our instructors had the one they preferred and had added and removed what they thought. http://www.flashcardexchange.com/study has 20 basics. The best resource will be the ones you have to learn from the instructors.
I was very worried about Dosage Calc as well. Relax..It isnt as bad as it seems. You've gotten some really good advice already. Remove the non-important figures from the calculations. That always seemed to trip me up. If you can remember the more important conversions it helps. There is a list of them in The Davis Drug Guide for nurses, and most Dosage textbooks.
Good Luck!!
thanks bnc1143 could you tell me if there is a place online that i could find the table of conversions? thank you. i will start working on that as soon as i find the table. great advice
did you look at what was on post #2 of this sticky thread: https://allnurses.com/general-nursing-student/nursing-math-thread-264395.html - the nursing math thread? there are specific weblinks listed there for conversion charts.

I love my Calculate with Confidence book and CD. It really breaks everything down for you.
