Need HELP deciding what I should do with my job!!

Nurses General Nursing

So i have been working at a hospital for 2 and a half years as a CNA. All my time working here, I was excited to become a nurse and work here when I graduate. I was accepted into an Associate's program last year and have finished my first year. I was looking forward to graduating in December 2013 and applying for new graduate positions at my hospital in Janaury 2014. All my time here, job postings for new grads have been listed as BSN preferred. However, I just looked at the new positions for March and they all state "BSN required." I am devastated! I've invested so much time working here as a CNA so that I could eventually work here as a nurse and was never notified of this change. Do I still have any chance of getting hired here at graduation? I know that the best chance of getting a job as a new grad is having your foot in the door somewhere and now I feel my time here won't help me at all... Should I stay and remain hopeful or start looking for new work?

To be fair, why would they notify you of this change? The hospital can change its hiring practices any time it pleases. Speak with your manager... tell her that you enjoy working there and hope that there will be nursing opportunities available to you once you graduate. Ask her about the BSN required policy.
