Need help with common Med Surg questions!!!!

U.S.A. California

Hi guys! I got an interview soon and I need help with some common interview questions, please help!? I need the common questions for a med surg floor and the what the interviewer is looking for behind each questions!?!?!?!?

I would really appreciate it!!!!! I want this job so bad! Please help!?!?

I have only interviewed for NICU positions but there are a few questions that seem common to all interviews:

1) tell me about yourself - this is a chance to sell yourself. Practice a 2 minute shpeel about your and your nursing journey

2) what is your weakness/ what will be your biggest challenge - for this question, be honest. Saying you are a perfectionist may be true, but the interviewers hear this ALL the time. Be unique and always follow it up with how you are working on it.

3) Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

4) Tell me about some of your memorable patients you had in nursing school

5) and lastly, what qualities make you a good candidate?

In addition, always bring a list of quesions to ask at the end. I feel like an interiview should be a conversation, not an interrogation. Be prepared to ask intelligent questions that will show your interest and motivation.

GOOD LUCK!

Be sure to ask what exactly are they are looking for? What type of person do they see working in this position? When they answer these, you can get an idea of how to reply to some of their other questions because you now know what they are looking for. You can also ask why is this position open, what happened to the previous nurse? Also be sure to review their web page, who the important people are, and what is going on with the company right now. It makes you look good because not everybody does these simple things. Also be sure to get all their names correctly so you can send thank you letter to each and be sure to shake hands goodbye and I hope to meet with you again. When i shake hands at the end i try to remember their names and i am usually wrong and they are gracious enough to correct me Good luck!
