need help and advice

Hello everyone. I need help and advices of what i need to do. Here is my situation I graduated back in 2003 but did not passed my test until recently. In August/2008. I only have a little experiences which came from working with my IP license. also from clinical rotation. I'm having difficulty looking for a job because I either not qualify for a new grad program is because I'm not a new grad or is because I don't have enough experiences.

Can anyone out there help me and have any suggestion for me? or anyone working right now and know that there hospital is hiring and willing to train.. Any Unit. I'm willing to relocate. I'm currently living in San Jose California, but like I said I'm willing to relocate.

Any information will be a great help. Please. Thank you

If you haven't worked yet, I would consider yourself a new grad and try for new grad positions. When you apply you're going to have to offer a reason for the length in time between graduation and wanting to work now but you're still a new grad by any's definition.

Good luck.

HelloKitty,

you should be able to get a position with any hospital as they usually train you for several weeks or...

you might want to check out if there is a refresher/re-activation program

you could attent. Refreshers are giving at the local vo-tec and usually for

both LPN and RN Course takes about 4 weeks.

You can also take a Re-activation course, 3-4 month course where you actually get clinical experience.

hello All

Thank you for all the advices. MANDIE you mention of refresher course/re activate courses? Do you know of any school in the bay area by any chance? I live in san jose :) thank you again

Hello Kitty,

Refresher courses are often offered at your local Vocational Technical school even for RN's...your state board of nursing can tell you where

the Re-activation courses are held. I am from PA.

Good Luck
