having worked on a stepdown unit for over five years i will tell you that the book that was always recommended, hands down, was rapid interpretation of ekgs by dale dubin, md which is still being published.
if you do a search of allnurses for "ekg" you should find some posts that have listings of weblinks to free online ekg help. i have a file of many of these weblinks. these links should also be listed in a sticky on the ccu nursing forum as well.
there is a companion website for a canadian ekg book that i found a few years ago that i thought would be really helpful for students. the website is still up and functional. i don't know if you can still obtain the book.

I worked as a monitor tech on a telemetry unit. The hospital had their own EKG class but the teacher was often was confusing & I found her to contradict herself. To pass the class, I heavily relied on ECG INTERPRETATION MADE INCREDIBLY EASY (from the Made Incredibly Easy series). It was about $30 but I'm sure you can find it on used book websites for relatively cheap, especially since a new edition is coming out this October.
Good luck!
