According to the website of the Registered Nurses' Association of British Columbia, international applicants must be graduates of nursing programs equivalent to those provided in B.C. A position statement from RNABC found on another site indicates that beginning in 2005, entry to practice competencies will require baccalaureate preparation. The whole entry to practice issue is very inflammatory and each province is on their own path. Alberta is heading that way soon, but still offers some diploma training, as does Manitoba. All applicants are required to write and pass the Canadian Registered Nures Exam. Your best bet would be to contact them through their website at http://www.rnabc.bc.ca and ask them your questions.
