Hello,
I used to be an LPN in Florida. I had a drug problem and turned myself into the Board of Nursing and Intervention Project for Nurses(IPN). They wanted me to do an intensive out-patient rehab program for 8 weeks. Well, the program cost was $1600. I lost my job for turning myself in so I couldn't pay what they wanted:banghead:. Because of finacial reasons I had to volutarily religuish my license. All this took place about 2 years ago. Today I got a letter from the National Practitioner Data Bank and Healthcare Integrity and Protection Data Bank saying that an action has been taken against me. The Action: Exclusion/Debarment from Medicare/Medicaid and all other Federal Healthcare Programs. The Reason: Lic. Revoked, Suspended, Surrendered or otherwise lost for reasons bearing on professional performance, competence or finacial integrity. What Does This Mean ??? Does it mean I won't be eligible for Medicare/Medicaid ? Please... Anyone with any input would be helpful. Thanks, Steve

No - it means the services that you provide can't be billed to Medicare/Medicaid. Has nothing to do with you receiving Medicare/Medicaid.
Are you planning to try for relicensure?

:pAHHH !!! I thought that's what that meant. I wasn't sure though.
:bow:Thanks for clearing that up for me.
Am I planning on going back into nursing...? NO
Sorry about that but glad you are in recovery.

What that means is that you could never work in a place that get reimbursed by medicaid/medicare....which is everywhere generally. being on that particular register keeps many nurses from finding a job.
one thing i dont know is if you can appeal that or get your name off that list.
