Need some advise

Published

So I decided to become a Nurse like all you guys/gals.

I know that nursing program is hard to get into, But I was wondering if getting a Bachelors in Biology(Or maybe a major close to nursing) and then applying to a Nursing program at a CSU/UC if I will get a little more chance of getting accepted? Or should I right now just get my pre-reqs for nursing done and apply right away to the nursing program and wait?

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

I have a BS in Biological Sciences and am about to begin my BSN program in January. However, I got my BS many years ago and used it for a different career (Pharmaceutical Research), and am going back to school for a career change. If you know that you are interesting in pursuing nursing, then I would suggest going straight for the Pre-reqs at a community college and get all A's. Although I do believe my prior BS helped me get into nursing programs, I don't think it would be worth it for you to go get a BS in Biology just to get into Nursing School. Good grades and a high TEAS score will take care of that.
