Need some advice and words of encouragement...

Published

Hi, I'm taking my exam in a couple more days (Thursday) and I'm just anxious now. I'm taking my last Question Trainer in Kaplan later and pretty much finished reviewing content from the Saunders book. I felt somewhat confident the past couple of days about this exam..but last night i just started to doubt myself and had a mini crying spell. Today is my "last time" to study. Any suggestions for the day before the exam? :o

Specializes in none, still looking.

Review over transportation such as wheelchairs, walkers, and canes things like that, You will be okay

Aw, you know what I'm going to tell you: BREATHE! :)

Seriously, all the studying in the world won't matter if you can't trust in yourself. There's no reason to doubt yourself: you got through nursing school, this is just another test, it's Question Trainer #8 :)

You can do this. You will do this. Do the reviews today just like you have been; do NOT freak out if your grades are lower than before. They go up, they go down, they do NOT reflect how you are going to do Thursday.

Before you start the test, take a minute and close your eyes. Fold your hands in front of you. Take a few deep, long breaths. Exhale slowly. Tell yourself (out loud or in your head) "This is a test like any other test I've done well on. I know everything I need to know to pass easily. I will get some answers wrong, so what, I will get as many right as I need to and PASS."

How's that? :)

Yes, I AM cute....LOL....! I spend a LOTTA volunteer time working with new mothers, and I find that telling them to BREATHE is a frequent directive ;)

Anyway, if *I* can do this (and I will, next Wednesday!!) then YOU can do this. I've always over-studied, over-freaked, over-worried and over-stressed. I always passed, I always made A's and B's, and probably cut a few years off my life because of the worries.

We're going to stop that right now :)

Can't wait until you tell us on....Friday?.....that you are licensed :)
