I applied for a new position at work. My supervisor had to inform my co-workers of the posting of this position, but she informed them I had applied for this position. Do you think she was right by sharing this with them? Would it be wrong if I went to HR to tell them I do not appreciate what she did? What happened to confidentialty at the workplace........ :uhoh3:

It was inappropriate to discuss whether or not you had applied for the position. If you wanted to say something, then it is up to you, and you only.

Not the manager's.

this was wrong but some people are not professional...i would tell her privately that you wished she had not seen fit to share this with others

hopefully you will get the transfer and not be under her supervision

I feel like she is trying to throw salt in it. I feel like certain individuals do not want me to get this position. I feel like they are blocking me. I applied to the job posting and interviewed... now what. My employer stated they had to post the job internally and externally because they do not want to be sued but I have seen too many co-workers get promotions without the job being posted. I am already doing the job but without the title and salary.

Thats just it I will be under her supervison. The Director of the program is doing the interviewing but my employer does not want her to be part of the day to day operations so I have to remain under her. .... Weird... coporate nursing is difficult. They do not play by the same rules as hospitals or clinical settings. Its politics, brown nosing and discrimination. I feel stuck. I am the "go to girl" but everytime someone comes to me or single me out to be promoted its always something. Its like they will not let me go :o I feel if I quit they will get two nurses to do my job.
