Need advice!

Published

Hey everyone! I'm currently in school and have been since 09 but I've been taking my classes 1 or 2 at a time due to kids and other issues. Now, I'm ready to get things started but I know I need to take the teas test. My fiancé is asking me to go ahead and take the teas test just in case. I've talked to counselors and they all haven given me different answers. My GPA dropped after failing my Micro class after I though I had dropped the class but I was supposed to take additional steps in dropping the class and didn't know. My GPA is slowly coming up. The minimum for the nursing is class at Shelton State is 2.5 after this semester my GPA will be right at 2.5. I was thinking about taking the teast test May 21st. They will be accepting applications for the RN program from May 1st to June 1st and LPN for fall admission is the same and for the spring it is September 1st- October 1st. I've purchased a study guide for the TEAS and have been looking over it in between time. Do you all think I should go ahead and take it and maybe apply for one of the programs IF I score high enough on the test or wait? This is my second time posting this on here and I just need some advice.

If I'm understanding you correctly, you have not retaken microbiology yet?

If that is the case I recommend you finish ALL of your prerequisite courses before taking the TEAS V exam and applying to nursing school. As you finish up your last prereq take the TEAS V and apply to the school. I would try to raise your GPA to at least a 3.0 so you have some wiggle room with nursing courses.

I'm taking Micro now. The only class I have left to take is Psychology 210, which I will be taking next semester and another course to try and boost my GPA.

I would take the TEAS V exam in early august and try to make the Spring 2015 semester. In the Fall 2014 focus on those two classes. best of luck!
