Nurses General Nursing

First off I just want to say that I really enjoy this message board for nurses. I get great information about the good and the bad of nursing.

My dilema is that I have a Biology BS degree. I want to go into nursing and am considering programs that award the BSN and others that award the RN. If I was to go on to become CNS or a NP would having a BS and a RN be detrimental in admission vs getting another bachelors or BSN?

Not sure the best route to go.

Green,

You might want to check into FNP or CNS programs in your area- these programs are master's level programs, and I believe most would require a BSN for admission. There are BSN programs for people who have already have a bachelor's degree in another field. There are also RN-MSN programs with FNP and CNS options, so you will need to do some research to decide which option is best for you.
