Hey there! Well, I graduated in May 07. I took the nclex at the end of June. I really didn't study....and of course..I failed. So, I have definitely figured out that you have to respect this test. I started doing questions the next day! I do questions everyday and I am also reading the Kaplan test taking strategy book. Plus, I got the Kaplan drug cards..seeing as how I had a ton of drugs on the last test. I was just wondering if anyone can give me some extra advice on how to prepare? I need some tips from people that have passed this thing or passed it after failing...just need to know the proper route to get through this!! Thank you so much!:uhoh21:

I also graduated in may of 07 and took the nclex in june. I did pass at 75 questions. I walked out thinking I failed though.

My approach to studying was to just answer questions.

A couple of classmates used Kaplan but I ended up using a testing system that I bought online. (ebay 9.99) and it had a question bank of 3500 questions. (you could pick any # of questions to be tested on) It gave rational. But another thing that I liked was that I was also able to use the rational to find out what the other answers (whether an intervention or process) was used for too. Then anything that threw me I would research on the computer to get a general idea of what I was looking at.

ON this system you could select a system or process and test specifically on your weak points. Then you could test cumulatively.

The way it is set up is very much like the setting when taking the NCLEX. So you are answering questions the same way and sitting up in front of the computer the same. Just the setting alone put me at ease since this is how I tested at home.

Hope this helps. It worked for me.

Hi. What was the name of the testing system you purchased from eBay??

Thanks!

Search with key words NCLEX 3500. I paid 9.99 for digital delivery. It will say digital delivery in the right column. The image has a picture of a guy in blue scrubs.

It came to me via email with a link once I paid through paypal. It took seconds. Less than a minute to set up too.

Another thing. I did not realize till after I bought it that this is the same testing system that my instructor advised was a good resource to study and that is was set up at school too.

However only one teacher mentioned it. But that is another story.

Hi everyone,

I graduated in June 07, have not taken the NCLEX yet. I ordered the NCLEX 3500 program and used it for the first time yesterday. I think it's great. I also took Kaplan and some of Kaplans questions are the same as the ones on the NCLEX 3500 disc. People I spoke to say the best way to prepare is to do lots of questions, so that's what I've been doing! Good Luck to us both!!!;)

Thank you! I will definitely try some of these things. I guess I do need to answer more questions on the computer to get me in the right frame of mind. Thanks!
