Hello my name is Jen and I just recently decided I want to become a nurse, well ive been thinking about it for a while. I'm 23 years old I feel like it'll take me forever to finish all the schooling that's involved. And also my gpa isn't the greatest thing in the world. I just want to hear some sincere and honest advice on what I should do.

Hi Jen,
It's never too late! There are a lot of non-traditional students in nursing programs. A good portion of my cohort are non-traditional students, in their 30's-50's, with children and jobs. They are some of the most level-headed and intelligent people I have ever met. Age doesn't seem to be much of a factor, and 23 is young.
As far as your GPA is concerned, look at schools that you want to apply to and see what their requirements are. See what their policy is on re-taking classes for credit and how you can boost your GPA. Every school is different; some require interviews, some don't. Some require essays, some don't. And some put more emphasis on GPA than your TEAS/HESI score. It all depends on the school.
If this is what you really want to do, do whatever you can to get there, and don't give up. If there's a will, there's a way.

I say go for it! I am 34 years old and hated working 2 jobs my whole life in a degree I was not happy with. I didn't always know I wanted to be a nurse, I just knew I wanted to be in the health field helping people and making a difference. I was scared and afraid to go back for many reasons...money, not feeling I was smart enough, fear of failing, feeling I was too old and it would take forever..When I finally told myself I can't keep just getting by in a mediocre life because I'm scared I decided to take my prerequisites for nursing school and got a 4.0 and loved all the classes! Trust me your talking to a girl who barely scraped by college her first time and my GPA was pitiful..it's different when you know what you want! I got accepted to nursing school after a lot of hard work and I'm so excited to begin...If this is truly something you want please don't hesitate and do it now! Don't think of the time or the money..think of it as doing something your gonna love and be happy with the rest of your life! But just realize it's gotta be something you love and are committed to because it's going to be a lot of hard work and time consuming but if you are prepared for that it's a small price to pay to be happy:)

It doesn't take forever. You're still young and have plenty of time.
I would research the programs that you're interested in thoroughly. Also, if you are looking into ADN programs, ask the facilities in your area if they hire ADN grads.
Thank you all so much I truly appreciate your words! This is something that I definitely want to do. And hearing these words is helpful and reassuring to me. It means a lot! I'm so ready to start this journey(:
