I'll start by saying I just turned 26 and I have a 7 year old son. I have been on birth control for a few years, and switched from the IUD to the pill at the beginning of 2016. I haven't had any problems adjusting. I am currently on the pill where you get a period every three months. I was just beginning my last month 2 weeks ago when I woke up around 2 A.M. having to pee. When I wiped I noticed the toilet paper was darker than it should be. (note: I didn't turn on the bathroom light and relying on a little bit of light from the living room tv to guide me) When I turned on the bathroom light I noticed there was a lot of blood. all over my underwear, my thighs, and the toilet seat. After cleaning up, I put a pad on and went back to bed. The bleeding slacked off to spotting by the morning and the spotting lasted until this morning. The spotting would switch back and forth from bright red to brown. I woke up this morning and as I was walking towards the bathroom I could feel something warm gushing out of me. I ran to the toilet and there was a lot more blood this time. I have also been passing little clots here and there throughout this entire time. I'm wearing a pad now, and there's mostly just little spots on it. Even when I'm on my period, I don't bleed that much. I called the doctor but I haven't heard anything back yet. Should I push for them to see me, or am I just freaking out over nothing? I know my body, and I know this is very abnormal for me but I also know that birth control can change things. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
