Need Advice On Wife

Published

I originally was going to post in the male nursing section, but want any help out there. I just finished my 1st quarter of LPN school and love it. However my wife is less than thrilled with my becoming friends with some of the women in the class. She is convinced an affair is imminent. Any words of wisdom on how to alleviate her fears and worries?

I think women and men use the word "friend" very differently. My husband calls the guys he works with friends even though he doesn't spend any time outside of work with them. I think women call those people colleagues or work friends which doesn't imply intimacy. To us women a friend is someone you are very close to and confide in. Its a matter of semantics I think.

Also, if she is so insecure, ask yourselves why...explore it. Good luck.

Yes I think you are right about the wording. I always referred to my classmates as classmates to my husband. Even when mentioning by name I would say TTP my classmate
