Need advicde on what to do about possible job offers (bad timing)

Im in a tough situation now and Im not sure what to do. Kinda long story but Ill try to explain. I graduated in December from Trocaires medical assistant program and am certified. I havent landed a job yet so i ended up applying to Mercy hospital for a nursing assistant position. Anyways, I had my interview there Wed. and Im pretty confident that I may get the job. The thing is they said they will be hiring people by early next week. I wish I could know now or asap if I got it becasue I am supposed to go on this medical assistant interview Tuesday at a cardiolgy group. Im probably going to call the hospital Monday. I mean the cardiology group (medical assistant position) sounded like they want someone who already knows how to do ekg's and has vital signs down, however I put in my coverletter that I know the basic of ekg's but was willing to learn (never doner one) but didnt mention that I still need more practic with vitals. I dont know if they actually looked at my coverletter but they did call me. I just dont want to waste anyones time. It is also bout 16mins. away but I would be getting a ride there so, it is further than the hospital about 5minutes from me. I also just saw on craiglist that this pediatric office (I did my externship at a pediatric office in the same building) is now looking for a medical assistant. However, I probably wont be able to fax or mail out/ hand in my resume to them until at least Monday Tuesday. This is around the same time Im supossed to be hearing back from the hospital. Im confused and dont know what to do. I wish this pediatric office would have put the ad up sooner. Now if I do get the job offer at the hospital..im not sure if they give you time to think about it? Im not sure when I would be able to interview for the pediatric office by. Any advice? I would say I probably without knowing the details am most interested in the hospital and pediatric office right now (plus they are both right by my house)

I probably would go with the medical assistant position because I would think they pay more than the nurse assistant, unless your career goal is nursing, than do cna. I think the cardiologist option would be great experien:rolleyes:ce

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. Pursue your options until you get a job offer. But all things being equal, you may want to hold out for an MA position if it pays more. But if offered a CNA job in the hospital, you might want to consider the benefits offered as part of the package. You might want to look at each situation as a separate entity. Apply separately and keep your paperwork separate, mark down dates on a calendar. Only apply if you seriously want to consider the job. When you get your first offer, then think whether you want that job over the others. It might not be a good idea to accept one job, then three weeks later to leave for another offer. You don't want to be burning any bridges if you can help it. Don't accept a job unless you are reasonably sure this is the one you will be sticking with, at least for the immediate future. Good luck.

Well I think the ad said for the pediatric office $12hr not sure if there are benefits or if it is union or not. The hospital I dont know what the pay would be..hoping/thinking it would be around $12.50 but I dont know for sure it could be less or more. Im pretty sure you get benefits and its union. I dont think I would go for nursing ..idk though. Does anyone know if they give you a time period to accept the job? I just wish the pediatric office would of posted sooner and that I could interview soon. I have no idea when they will be interviewing, and i cant wait a few weeks if the hospital offers me the job early next week. Unless I try to get my resume to the pediatric office asap and tell them if there interested I have to interview asap..becasue I am waiting to hear back or was offered a position somewhere else. Like I said the earliest I can probably get my resume to them is Monday, if not Tuesday. If I fax, mail,or hand in my resume to the pediatric office, how do I tell them that I need to know very soon about an interview/offer?

Doctor's offices typically pay lower than other jobs because of the favorable schedule. Personally, if it were me, I would take the hospital job, if offered.
