2nd Interview wednesday, need to vent

Published

I was interviewed by 2 nurses for OR clinical nurse I. The both had 3 pages of questions which they took turned going down the page asking my questions on. One emphasized several times that nursing there stay for a long time hence her 29 years. The nurse that came to get me from the waiting area to start the interview asked me if I had been given a tour when I interviewed with the managers last week. I told him no, they said I'd get one with the 2nd interview. so after and hour of these questions, and answers which they wrote down my response to ( not sure every answer was great) they asked me if I had any questions for them. I asked a couple, Shook their hands and thanked them for the interview and asked how long before I would hear anything. as he was walking me out he replied that they have alot of openings. Then he said how did your 1st interview go? I said I think it went pretty good. He said ok. Then he said Oh I forgot to ask you, did you take the Nclex? I said yes, the already made copies of my temp license on first interview, I'm just waiting for official to come in the mail he said ok shook my hand again, thanked me. Then I left. I don't know if he forgot to do the tour or what. So now this is day 2 and i am trying not to wait by the phone but but this is driving me crazy! This process started July 2nd with a call from Headquarters saying that they have a job opportunity for me as part of the RN residency program. Then I had the first interview 5 days later. Then at the end of 1st interview they scheduled 2nd one and told me it was pier to see if I fit on the unit, and it was on the 21st. Now I wait. Thanks for listening to my vent.

Oh boy, I feel your pain. My friend went on an interview for a position in the nurse residency program and was interviewed twice and felt she did great. Then a couple days after the nurse recruiter told her that she was not selected. Just keep your finger crossed but still send out applications because you never know.

im still waiting to hear back about a job. I had 3 total interviews. They told me that they would let me know within 2 weeks for their decision. They need to hurry up because their program starts in august and I would have to make a lot of arraignments. Ive been jumping for my phone everytime it rings ( because the lady always calls when I am no where near my phone. LOL)

LoveLee, good luck! Hope you hear something soon. It's only been 4 day and I am able to relax a bit because it's the weekend, and I know I won't be getting a call over the weekend, but when monday comes, oh Boy! I'm gonna be back to my jittery, checking the phone and making sure the volume is up, checking the email to see if i got a rejection letter every 10 mins self! I can't wait to hear SOMETHING! lol

Whoever said that the waiting is the hardest part is absolutely correct! Everything after nursing school just seems to be waiting waiting and more waiting! Wait to take NCLEX, wait to find out if you passed NCLEX, wait for an interview, wait to hear back from interview...it never ends and it is always so nerve wracking! I hope you all hear back from your respective places soon and that the stress from waiting isn't too much!

Lovelee, did you get the job? I am still waiting, I emailed HR lady last week and she told me that she hasn't heard anything as of yet and that she was going on vacation next week and hopefully she would know more when she returned. Well today is monday so she is back. I didn't email her again though, I called HR head quarters (who originally called me with the phone interview) and the person that I spoke with the first time told me that the position is still open so they are still interviewing. She told me to give it until thursday or friday and if I hear nothing then I should call her back. Of course I am gonna call her on thursday, but hopefully i will hear something. I noticed that on the application site all the surgical jobs that were placed before the one I applied for are still there so I am thinking that surgery must take a long time to get time to hire. All the others change more frequently. I will be patient and pray that I am doing this for the better.
