I'm also a second-degree, second-career student who sought greater fulfillment. I'm envious! I wish that my husband would enter this field, so that we could work as travel nurses together. I've heard of couples doing this, and it sounds wonderful.
In my class, we had 2 sets of sisters & one set of brother/sister. It obviously helped with studying for tests. Nursing is such a surreal experience, I believe that to have another person to "blow off steam" with (or share emotionally difficult events) is a tremendous advantage. Even though you already have a degree, don't expect this to be easy -- it's very different than your typical college experience. It affects you on every level of your being.
Good luck, and great plan!

Hi everyone,
My wife and I are planning a mid-life career change. Something more meaningful, etc, etc. We both have bachelor degrees in non-nursing disciplines and we've applied to several nursing programs for Fall '04 admission( 2 ADN, 2 BSN just to cover our bets). We're using the interim to complete our prereqs. at a local community college. Our goals are to work as travel nurses for a few years.
I guess we're looking for feedback, ideas, validation or ??
Thanks very much, we've already learned a lot from reading the posts.
