2nd attempt on NCLEX...

Published

I took the Nclex for the 1st time in July and failed in 75 questions. I was beside myself. I had to tell my boss, friends (who had all passed) my family that i failed. I was working as a GN at the time and had to go back as a CNA (tough thing to do). I thought i studied alot, but i guess it wasnt enough. :( I took the Silvia Rayfield course offered by my school and

studied from a Saunders book. I took a couple of days off to regroup and for the denial to subside.I KNEW that i had to plan differently, i needed a new strategy of attack. I decided to give up 500 dollars and enroll in the complete Kaplan course. I studied all of july & August, completing 100-150Q's a day. I took the NCLEX againg TODAY Sept 2. I went in with confidence but when the computer AGAIN SHUT OFF AT 75, i wanted to curl up and cry. I was in a daze walking out of the testing center,

there were some questions i kind of new the answers too and other where i had no clue.I wasn't a 100% sure on any of the questions. I got maybe 5 SATA, 1 med calc question, Priority, i feel like i got meds that i never even heard of before. :confused:I keep remembering questions and trying

to look up the info....it does me no good...I feel i have failed once again.

I wonder how i can fail the nclex TWICE in only 75 questions. The waiting period only makes it worse did i study all summer only to end up back where i started at? :banghead:

It was nice for me to know the areas i was below passing, but my second time around studying I studied everything, like it was my first time taking it. Because who knows what kinds of questions they are going to give you the second time. You will do great on the next one "inspired26" , you will have studied more and plus you already know what the test is like. GOOD LUCK :redbeathe

Thanks for the words of encouragement GNHopetoPass. I really want to just put this struggle behind me. I wish you the best as well. I have been trying so hard to review content and hope that it sticks this time. I just feel like I am running out of time even though I know that we have an abundant amount of times to pass. I just don't want to take this test more than twice.

CONGRATS! I hope I will have the same results as you did.

I'm retaking the NCLEX-RN the 2nd time around on November.

Your post definitely motivated me to just hang in there and keep my spirits up.
