NCTC Rooms/apartments for rent

Well, here goes nothing. This seems to be a great place to ask questions anyways. So I'm planning on attending NCTC in Corinth, Tx in August for the LVN Program. I live down the road in Lewisville with family right now being I just got out of the Army. I've been looking for apartments online in the area around Lewisville and I'm not liking the apartments at all. Most of them are really ghetto and not safe and or expensive rent not including utilities. Almost as much as a mortgage payment. I checked apartmentguide.com and apartmentratings.com and I'm not liking what I'm seeing at all in this area.

So, anybody in here know where I can find a really great priced apartments around NCTC area that's not ghetto and unsafe/unsecured. Or maybe rooms for rent. I found a one place in Denton with a room for rent for $480 including all utilties and 2 other people in the house. If you know where I can find more I need to know.

I'm not so sure about renting a room in a house with people I don't know. I'm kinda a loner when it comes to renting but who knows I might give it a try.

Patrick, I lived in apartments in the Lewisville area for many years before finally building a house in Corinth (although I don't live in Corinth now). Unfortunately, even 10 years ago, my rent was far more than $480. If you want a nicer, safe place, you will have to pay a little more than that. I lived in Chapel Hill Apartments on FM 3040 http://www.chapelhilllewisville.com/(nice, gated, etc.) and liked them pretty well. I know of several friends who live in Denton who said that they have had luck with apartments downtown---above retail---like loft style. Also, I'm sure they are expensive, but the new apartments/condos? by Denton Presby are really nice. I would expect to pay AT LEAST $700 for a decent apartment. That's still a significant savings over a mortgage, especially when you consider maintenance, etc. Good luck to you!!

Yeah, I got a friend at Chapel Hill too. She said she was moving out because they jacked up her rent to $800 a month. I'm looking at Vista Springs of Lewisville right now. Good price, gated, covered parking and very safe. And apartmentratings.com has a lot of good reviews about it.

I was paying close to $1000 for a 2 bedroom almost 10 years ago....I can't imagine what they are going for these days!

Why don't you check craigs list....type in craigs list dallas in google. This will pull up craigs list and then you can type in denton. Once you do this it will pull up all the listed rooms/apartments for rent in the denton area. Thats what I did. I start the online LVN this SAT. for NCTC.
