NCTC ADN Fall 2013

I'm going to Gainsville next week to apply for the ADN program and was wondering if anyone else was looking to do the same. I live in Lewisville, so Gainsville is quite a drive, but I'd be willing to car pool! Has anyone started to study for the Kaplan? I need to get started on that since the test is scheduled to take place at the end of June. Good luck to all of the applicants!

I picked up an LED pen light and another that wasn't so bright. I figure I'll be safe with one of each kind. I also don't have a BP cuff and I'm not sure if it comes in the kit. I think the kit is mainly gloves and other miscellaneous supplies. I was eying a few lab coats as well, but I don't know if we will need one. I suppose I can hold off on that until after orientation.

Wow, I completely forgot about the lab coat. I think waiting until orientation is a good idea on that one, I'll probably do the same.

I wonder when they will allow us to register. The school site says this week, but nothing has changed on my account thus far. Guess we'll see some notification in some form or another.

I got the impression that we would be placed into the classes that we needed and would just have to go on and pay for them. The only reason I think that is because they mentioned that we would have to register for any additional classes we needed on our own. I could also be reading that the wrong way. Hopefully they let us register soon!

On a side note - has anyone received their blue card in the mail? I already went in to get my finger prints and background done about a week ago and it hasn't shown up. I'm starting to get a bit concerned...

I went to do my finger prints the day after we got our packet. Still nothing in the mail here.

I got mine done 2 days after I received the information, but I'm guessing 7-10 days to get the card back...seems about normal for processing and then sending through snail mail.

They will register you for your classes.

I didn't get my blue card until 2 months after my prints. =/

I saw on the NCTC website that the Gainesville and Corinth campuses are down today with no phones or internet, that probably has something to do with not being put into our classes yet. Hopefully it comes back up soon.

The ADN site has been updated and those of us in group 1 have been registered for classes. I was able to pay for my classes as well. It looks like there are still problems with the system though and the other groups won't be registered until next week.

Yep, I went to see if I was registered, and I wasn't (3A). I went to the school to turn in my photo and degree plan, as well as get my clinicals ID made, and they confirmed in person that there was an error with the system. Looks like I'm getting registered next week.

Ok. I am group 1 but my information on the site is not coming up at all. I go to view/pay and select fall 2013 and it is empty. I am worried that I will be dropped from my classes.

I had to go to pay in full and it took me to the Quick Pay website. Once I selected Fall 2013 and submit it, I had to scroll down a bit so I could see the option to go to the other site. It isn't much - just a few sentences and a gray button I think, but it is there.

Ok, good that is what I went to as well. Hope it all went through correctly haha. I am just so excited to start this month!!
