Hi all,
I am using Kaplan as my study tool for NCLEX. Unfortunately I do not have great scores nor recommended passing scores.
QT 1 = 60
QT 2 = 55
QT 3 = 58
QT 4 = 63
QT 5 = 54
QT 6 = 59
QT 7 = 57
Readiness = 62
My question bank is averaging 60s-70s. My exam is exactly 1 week today. Any advice? SHOULD I reschedule my test? I know the scores are bad and SOME people say as long as you get 50% and above, you should be fine. However, according to Kaplan, my scores are not good. I just need advice from NCLEX passers who recently took it or who used Kaplan? I am scared I can't function anymore.
Please help. Thank you

My scores and yours are similar. I rescheduled my test date, but I have my reasons (too much anxiety, not finish reading the book or watch any videos, and just not ready according to Kaplan). If you have been studied, I would say go for it. You know yourself best. People with lower score than you pass. Pray for you and myself!

The biggest question is how do YOU feel about your preparedness and knowledge over the content? Kaplan's recommendations are just that - their recommendation. If you feel like you are ready to tackle the beast, go through with your test date. If you have no time constraints (IE you need your license by 'x' date for a job), then just reschedule it if you really don't feel ready.
Now I know this may not be the same in your scenario because NCLEX pulls from such a large question bank, but I just took the test and passed in 75 questions. Kaplan helped me prepare for the style of questions, but what I learned through the banks & content, review videos helped me on probably 5 questions MAX. Everything other question required me to think back to what I had reviewed in other places or learned throughout nursing school.
Are Kaplan's test scores an accurate way to gauge your success on the NCLEX? I don't personally believe so. In my opinion, it certainly isn't the end all be all as far as you success goes. And remember, you are NEVER going to feel completely ready and it is impossible to know EVERYTHING prior to going into the test.
Thank you supermurse! Honestly, I feel confident and I just wanna go in there and tackle the beast! It's just that kaplan drilled on my head that I need to do better and I am not ready.
I will use your advice as one or my motivation
Browneyes3000 goodluck to both of us!! We got this! I've been thinking positive, writing positive letters to myself to boost my confidence!
Good luck and walk into that testing center confident in yourself and all of the knowledge that you've attained! Keep us posted on how it goes
