I will like to know if anyone knows a good review for the NCLEX TEST ( a rexiew that helped u guy passed the test )

I will also like to know if the reviews have the same questions that the test is going to have .. i don't mind if i have to study 1000 question but just knowing does 76-265questions that are in the test will be there im ok with it coz i have 2 or 3 years to know it and i really really want to learn to those questions and the definitions and how is couse if is a sickness and learn the new language of medical ...

You became a CNA while still in high school? I'm impressed. Good going.

If you didn't take gen biology in high school or didn't do well, take that before doing A&P courses. It may be required anyway. As for chemistry, I think if you take intro to chemistry with lab in college that's all most nursing schools require, and you will probably do ok. It's starts out pretty simple. But get your head around science, because nursing is a science-based occupation. Don't be intimidated, just be a good student from day one in your biology and chemistry course, and you'll do fine. Remember, if one person can do it, another person can do it. And you will do it, if you want it.

NCLEX comes at the end of nursing school, and there is no one who has done well in nursing school that has failed the NCLEX. Most schools have a 90% pass rate. Get A's and B's in nursing school and take the NCLEX within the first month or two after and you'll do fine. Believe me, you will become very familiar with the terminology. Don't worry about a review at this point; in fact, don't even worry about NCLEX right now--that won't be your problem. Right now, focus on the college courses you will take before starting the nursing program, and do well in them. Do well in English 101, do well in biology and chemistry, do well in child development and psychology, etc. And then go and do well in Anatomy and Physiology and Microbiology.

I recommend that you don't start the nursing program until you have all other courses except nursing out of the way. If you're in a BSN program, it may be that you have them all done before you start the nursing portion anyway.

I did very well in nursing school. When I finished, I studied flash cards and practice tests for about three weeks before I went and took the NCLEX. When I took the NCLEX, I realized the three-weeks I spent refreshing didn't really do anything for me except maybe kept me sharp and studious. What mattered, all that mattered, was that I did well all through nursing school. I drew on all my knowledge that I learned to answer the questions, and the program shut off at 75. Do not worry about NCLEX now. It will only distract you and all you really can do to prepare for it is do well in school. Be an A student. Strive for that, and you won't ever have to worry about NCLEX. No A and B student has to worry about NCLEX. Trust me.

Good luck. And remember: there is no career more important to your future patients and ultimately to you as a human being than nursing.

Nena,

Thats good that you are wanting to study early! It is never too early to get prepared. However, you don't have to (actually you CAN'T) take the NCLEX until you have completed nursing school. So, your big focus now should be on taking all the necessary classes and courses needed to get into nursing school. Check with your college to see what their nursing program requires. You will need to take Anatomy and Physiology, English, Speech, Psychology, etc. Remember that it is very competitive to get into nursing school these days so focus upon getting good grades. A Medical Terminology class is often helpful even if not required because it introduces you to "medicaleze" and helps you to understand all the big words and terms in healthcare.

Best wishes to you! Welcome to the wonderful world of nursing!

I agree. Focus one step at a time. If you are weak in any areas, such as math, science (especially biology and chemistry), try and take intro courses in those. NCLEX is the final step after graduating from a program. You have to pass the courses first, and each course should be a foundation for the eventual nursing classes you will take, because you will have to know the anatomy and physiology of the body, comprehend the disease process and then apply nursing skills to that. This is a process. I commend you for doing your research first, but I don't think you should concentrate on NCLEX initially, because you may not really understand what they are asking until you get to that point.

I am in my first year of nursing classes. I made sure all of my other science classes were completed before taking any nursing classes, just so I wouldn't be on overload. Nursing school is very different from science class. Don't get me wrong, A n P 1 and 2 are both difficult. Apply yourself and dedicate the time the classes deserve and a 4.0 is within reach. Nursing school id very different from science classes in that you are expected to understand and implement principles as well as technical knowledge. A student can have all the book knowledge in the world but if he or she lacks common sense nursing will be difficult. From the experiences I've had, NCLEX exams seem to combine knowledge and critical thinking. I have several practice books for the my board exam and they all seem to focus on these two factors. More than one answer can be correct, you need to pick the very best answer. Find strategies to taking these types of tests and you should get at least B's. I was an A student until the critical thinking piece became so important, now it's only solid B's. It kinda hurts... Best of luck with your goals!
