NCLEX test/pearson vue nclex pop up/kaplan/ati/

Published

I started studying right after I finish nursing school; I was so determine into getting my license and working. The problem was my study habit was not the best. So bad I fail twice before I finally pass. The first time I got 75 questions and got the bad "pop up." I was upset and angry because I thought I had study enough to pass this test. Deep down I know I didn't. I took those kaplan and ATI practice tests and hated doing extra work like reading rationales. The second time I thought I prepared myself well--read rationales, made sure I did my research on stuff I didn't know, and took the test a bit after 45 days. This time I got 263 questions before I freaking run out of time. I was so mad because I still believe I would've pass had I gotten 3 extra mins to finish the thing. I study hard that time but I forgot to manage my time (380 mins for 265 questions is not enough for me, still isn't-that's 1.35/questions n I need more than that). My third and last time I review all Kaplan Qbank questions keeping on eye on my time. I review rationales even if I knew the answers; pretty much that's all the study I did. When I took the test I was out of there in less than 2hrs; took between 78-79 questions-didn't notice the # when the scream shut. I came home, did the trick and got the "good pop up." Two days later I saw my name on the nursing license verification in NY before Pearson vue had the quick results up.

I want to tell those who fail and haven't pass yet that failing NCLEX is not the end of the world. Its just another bump in the becoming a RN rode. Keep studying and don't give up; I'm sure you know one person who is dumber than you and pass meaning you can do it too. Focus on one study plan and review rationales. For me, Kaplan works the best-it's the one that resembles NCLEX the most. ATI just helps improve your knowledge, but remember NCLEX is NOT a knowledge test. So take some time to study and become familiar with the NCLEX world, where everything is perfect and you got the time for everything. Don't waste your time crying abt failing and reviewing a million different books...look at it this way: you didn't pass the first time, so what? come back stronger and kill that thing the next time around--you finish nursing school so this test is nothing to you.

Thanks love it
