Im taking my NCLEX in about a month, didnt wanna take a review course because i wanna study on my own. For me I dont think a review would help. Did anyone pass the nclex on the first try? if so what books and cds did u use to study? and how did u study? i need advice...please help really wanna pass the first time around

Make sure you get a book about strategy! The NCLEX is like no test you have taken before, and you need to know how to break down the question to analyze it. Theres lots of good information on here about recommendations if you do a search through the forums.

Many people post that they are successful using Saunders Comprehensive Review, the Linda LaCharity book on prioritization, and the Kaplan review book for test taking strategy. You can start with these three. Basic thing to do is to map out a plan and do as many questions as possible and study the rationales for each answer, both those you got right and those you got wrong.

I'd go with the Kaplan review book. In my opinion, you need to know HOW to answer questions more so than the content of the questions. Odd are you won't know the answer to most of the questions, you just have to learn the study tips on how to make true educated guesses.

I passed on the first try, but I did the Hurst review online, so I am not sure if my answer helps you
