NCLEX study tips/tools

Published

Hello everyone

I am in the end of my first year in nursing school, and the end is getting closer and closer. I am worried about the NCLEX, and want to make sure I will be prepared for it when it comes. See my aunt is an extremely intelligent woman and it took her 4 times before she finally passed it. So if anyone has any studying tips and/or tools that I could utilize in order to get me better prepared please share

Thanks so much.

Hi,

I advice to you is to take Kaplan review course and buy Saunder 5th ed NCLEX RN review textbook (a MUST!). Kaplan questions are fairly similar with the real NCLEX questions, so I recommend you to do that. I didn't study medication at all because I know that I wouldn't be able to remember every medications and side effects. I took nclex in Sept. 13, 2012 and passed the first time with 75 questions. I thought I was failing, but I do the pearson vue trick and got a 'good pop'.

Study tips:

1. Do 265 questions daily after your graduation (6 days a week)

2. You must have Saunder 5ed nclex rn textbook

3. study lab values and types of precautions

4. Knows prioritization and delegation

5. Practice 'Select all that apply' questions as many as you can (majority of the questions in the nclex that I took were select all that apply)

6. Do the pearson vue trick after taking the test (It works 100%)

Good luck to your all.

Excuse my English, I'm not a native speaker. If I can do it than you can do it!!

Best wishes
