NCLEX Study Material

Published

hey everyone, i scheduled to take my nclex on august 5th and i am pretty nervous seeing all of the mixed reviews. i really want to pass it my first try because i have a baby on the way and dont want to worry about it after that. anyways, i want to know if i have enough good study material for it. i am not doing any kaplan, but i have saunders, lippencott, and a box of like 1200 questions from mosby. my school also required we do eri every semester and do a 3 day nclex review after graduating if anyone thinks i am missing something that is vital to passing please let me know!

thankyou! goodluck to others soon taking it as well!

I just talked to two friends and they stated that they both had like ten meds on theirs and they only knew two of them. They said to try to study some meds before Nclex and even if you come across those you do not know...not to loose faith, they both passed. One with 75 the other with 80 questions. One of them stated that they had alot of multiple choice on it..so if you have something that only tests you on multiple choice you might want to try that.

I just took the NCLEX on the 4th, and I did not sign up for any Kaplan courses because I just did not have the money to shell out 400 dollars! I only used the saunders books and one kaplan book to study for the test. I used the Pearson VUE trick, and if the trick really works then I passed. If you have the personal motivation and drive (which it sounds like you do), then you will be totally fine in setting yourself up for sucess in passing the test. Good luck!

What is the pearson vue trick?

there is a "select all that apply" only book by Lippincott, Williams & Wilkins. the front of my book says "NCLEX-RN. New Format Questions Third Edition." i have been doing it and they have been good practice!!!

What is the pearson vue trick?

I have heard that there is a "trick" to finding out if you passed after you take the exam. I am not 100% sure that this works but in case it does, here is the "trick":

1) Go to www.pearsonvue. com/nclex.

2) Click on My Account on the right hand side of the screen. Log-in with your userID and password that you used when you initially register for the test on-line.

3) Most important thing when doing this is that the status of your exam appointment must say "Delivered Successfully" Doesn't matter if its 1, 2 or 10 hrs after you took the test....it has to say delivered successfully. Otherwise this won't work for you until it does. This is the most crucial step of all.

4) When the status says "delivered successfully", go to the upper left hand side and click on register. Choose the RN test, then hit Next. Select your country. Answer the 3 yes/no questions. Select which school you graduated from, Select the Graduation Date, and the state you are taking your boards for. Then the moment of truth....

If you get a pop-up that says "another exam is schedule, you can't register, contact your board member"..... breathe and relax...you Passed!!! Seriously... .you Passed!!! Unless they changed their system....you Passed!!! Pop the bubbly.

If you get to a credit card payment screen....from what I have gathered.... .that means you didn't pass....I am truly sorry....but don't give up. Look at it this way....you have a heads up to starting studying and preparing for next time.

Theory behind this "treat" is simple....Pearson knows if you pass or failed as soon as you are done taking the exam....so once the results are delivered... .their system knows if you can register again or not. If you pass, their system will block you from double booking them.....but if you failed....they are more then happy to charge you again.
