NCLEX STORY- tips

Published

Hi everyone!

I just joined today because I promised if I passed NCLEX I would come on allnurses to say how much this amazing site has helped me and share my story.

Some background: I'm from NY and graduated in May with my BSN.

I scheduled my test and was not that nervous leading up to it (that was definitely denial lol)

basically, I took NCLEX on July 28th and received my passing results on the 30th. I did 75 questions.

Let me first start by saying I was a nervous wreck on nclex. I'd honestly thought I failed. I know a lot of people say that but I was so sure. I ended up passing and have thanked God everyday since!

For all my new nursing graduates out there I'm here to give you guys some reassurance (even though at this point I know you're freaking out).

All I can say is .. it's going to be okay. Whether you pass or fail you're going to be fine. If you pass HALLELUJAH! and if you don't pick yourself up after a few days of sulking and get back on that horse! You CAN and WILL do this !! Stay calm during the test. YOU KNOW MORE THAN YOU THINK YOU DO. Go with your gut and don't overthink it. You've made it this far. You got this.

Some materials I used to study were Kaplan, NCSBN and Uworld.

Honestly, out of all these resources I used Uworld the most. I did about 1500 question the 2 weeks following up to my test and this was my PRIMARY study source. It's amazing. Have a notebook with notes for rationales. I watched a few Kaplan videos and did the in person session ( about 4 days). Kaplan gives very good question strategies. I was only able to do about 3 NCSBN lessons but I hear their question bank is very good. They were very good resources and unfortunately I didn't get to use them as much as I'd like but I passed regardless!

Take a breath and believe in yourself.

Feel free to ask my any questions and I'll try to answer them as best I can!

Good luck everyone!!!
