NCLEX Score Review

Published

I'm graduating this semester, preparing for the NCLEX. I live in FL and I know we can get our results online within 2 days, with mail confirmation about a week later. What I want to know is--Do the results include any information other than "PASS" or "FAIL", like an item-by-item analysis or a breakdown of scores in each subject area? I'm trying to think positive, BUT...If I don't pass the first time, it sure would be nice to know what to stress (AND STRESS OVER) before I retake.

Thanks for any advice you can provide.

NOPE. If you pass, that's all you get is the word "pass". You will get confirmation in the mail saying that you passed. If you fail, you will get something in the mail that tells you what areas you need to work on. I'm not sure exactly what it contains, because I didn't fail, but I do know that you get something.

I have heard that if you dont do well, you receive a breakdown of the areas you need to brush up on. But for now- THINK POSITIVE. Good luck to you!

Thanks very much for your replies.

When I sat the first time I failed...I got my results on the phone and just got told I failed... :o When I got home (I am from the UK) I got a BIG envelope telling me I failed (not that I needed it rubbing in!!) and a break down of areas. The letter said that I passed in so many areas, close to passing in a couple of areas and didnt pass in the others. It broke it down to Management, Infection control, basic care etc etc.

However when I resat the exam in Feb I rang and I got told I passed :) When I got home I had a small envelope with just a letter saying Congratulations I passed...LOL :) No break down at all...

When I rang for the results both times - I tried ringing first thing in the morning when I got up but both times the results werent in until about 10am -which is about the time I came out of the exam...so be aware of this too when you come to ring..for example if you dont come out of the exam until 1pm..dont bother ringing until after 1pm 2 days after..all you will get otherwise is the results are not in, try in 72 hours - very heart stopping to hear that!!!

Hope that helps!

Hi Mary! I'm sitting here with sweaty palms as I type this, because I take the NCLEX TOMMORROW MORNING. I am soooo scared. I didn't think I would be THIS nervous. :uhoh21:

Here's a heads up on finding out if you passed or failed the NCLEX in Florida. Go to this website:

http://ww2.doh.state.fl.us/irm00praes/praslist.asp

It is a listing of all licensed nurses (and other healthcare professionals) in the state. Two to three days after you sit for boards (unless you sit on a Friday like me) go to this site and type your name in. If you passed the NCLEX, your name will pop up with your new nursing license number. If after three days you're name doesnt come up, then it's possible you failed. Call them then and find out. Best of luck to you.

Thanks Sue and Caroline for your replies and the link. That will come in very handy. Hope your exam went well, Caroline.

Thanks Mary! Just found out this AM, I passed!

IF you take the boards through Pearson learning center, you can check their website withiin 24 hrs of your test (In you sit on a Fri-- then no results til Mon) and the charge is only 7.00. I didn't know about that the other day. It was such a relief to know, though. I gladly paid the seven bucks!

Best of luck, Mary! And congratulations on the upcoming graduation! You're almost there now!! :balloons:

hi guys! I know this thread was 4 yrs ago so maybe you already took the nclex. I'm just thinking why is there a "Look up your NCLEX score" link in the florida board website? can you actually see your score there? here's the link http://www.doh.state.fl.us/mqa/nursing/nur_applicant.html
