NCLEX RN 1/13/2016

Published

Any feedback is welcome.....

I took my NCLEX RN exam this morning for the first time. After hearing so many friends say theirs shut off at 75(and passed) I was hoping I could prove my competency between 75-150. Well.....after I got to question 200 I thought to myself..."I am going to be taking all 265 questions". I felt my exam was the hardest test I've ever taken. I completed the Kaplan course and was scoring between 60-85 on their Qbank questions. I studied my butt off and did question after question every day. I felt confident until I sat in front of that computer on question 265. I thought to myself that I definitely failed but I was confused because my exam was hard. I had a lot of hard SATA's and many many priority questions. I don't know my results yet. Anyone have any feedback? What does having 265 questions mean? Do most fail with 265? Thanks in advance

It seems so random how CA results post ... some people I know got their license posted on Breeze after 48 hours and others have said it took them weeks!! CA also doesn't participate in the Quick results which makes this wait more agonizing. Ugh ...

How did you get your results so quickly!? How were you able to officially find out? So jealous. I tested the same day, January 13, 2016 and still nothing. I am from California.

I tried the Pearson Vue trick and used a $30 gift card both with the wrong and with the right expiration date to get the good pop up every time but I am not sure if it is correct.

When I go to BreeZe and sign in, I noticed that on "Application Activities" on the left hand side, it says "Registered Nurse - RN #XXXXXXX" and it also gives me an option to "RN - Change of Address" underneath. I was excited when I saw this but when I go to "Verify a License" on BreeZe website (before you sign in) and look up my last name and first name, my information does not show up. Same goes for putting the 7 digits RN #, my information does not show up. Also, I noticed that my fellow classmates whoofficially passed the NCLEX-RN all have a 8 digit license number instead of the 7 digit number that I have. This leaves me skeptical that the "Registered Nurse - RN #XXXXXXX" is not a notification that I passed but rather a clerical information of my application for the NCLEX-RN test. Also, on the upper right hand side where there is a box for "License/Registration Information," it says, "No license information available."

If anybody can give me some insight, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi Lulu9,

I also recently took the NCLEX in CA and I see the exact same status under Application Activities in Breeze, it is also a 7 digit number. I'm thinking this may have been there prior to even taking the exam and I just didn't see it since I have not logged into Breeze account in quite some time. It's soooooo frustrating having to wait so long in CA. I hope you hear some great news soon!!! Keep me posted if the status changes under application activities, thanks!

That is just your application number that has been there all along. Had your license number been issued, it should appear in the top right corner of that screen where it shows "license info". You can even do a search by name and see if license has been issued.

The timeframe for CA according to the website is 2-4 weeks. It also appears that if someone does not pass, you get a letter faster (about 1 week) than you get the "pass" notification. Hopefully, they update sooner rather than later but seems they are pretty backed up!!

Hi Lulu,

Did you guys ever get your notification letter whether you passed/failed?

Greetings, to my fellow classmates and nursing students.... You can and will pass the NCLEX exam, I promise... here are my secrets to my success-

I won a free Kaplan test prep course but landed up deciding in the second day that it simply was not for me or my learning style and so I bailed! My RN school paid the Hurst to come to our school for three days literally the day after graduation; December 15, 2015 and sit in class for 8 hours but at that point I was so fried, my mind was definitely not focused on school, nor did I even care! For me; I just needed to have a stress free holiday, detox, unwind, and attempt to recapture the meaning of fun” once again. And so that's exactly what I did; allowed myself to have some guilt free time off!

Fast forward…- I landed up registering for the February 17, 2016 test in Pasadena. I had several months off and was ready to go back into school mode. I gave myself exactly three weeks to study. Literally I put my life (AKA: motherhood, job, and social life) on hold and became a robot with study block sessions 8:00-noon (gym, lunch) 2:00-6:00pm and review 9:00-10:00pm….

Let me remind you… you have graduated from nursing school, you have won 2/3 of the battle already! If you are like me, a student that has to work exceptionally hard at achieving success then you already have the secret weapon. Your stamina and drive will propel you to do well. After much research and trial and error, I realized that UWORLD” (1900 questions) and the NCSBN site was by far the best test prep. The only other book I used was Prioritization, Delegation, and Assignment by Linda A. LaCharity and only got through page 70. In addition; I organized all my notes by body systems and let me tell you; I wrote a plethora of notes!!

To make a long story short… I passed with 75 questions and received my results two days later. Honestly; I felt that the test was easy, yes I actually said it; EASY!! UWORLD was by far my favorite site and the most in depth with content knowledge and review. I walked out of the exam feeling elated and free as I knew I had passed. - It was the best crash course I have ever taken and now clearly understand the language of Nursing. In addition, I feel more empowered to conquer my new found career with the knowledge I have recaptured and my understanding of the various disease states in dept.

I believe in all of you, you can do this! Good luck future RN's of America! My prayers are with you on test day!

CONGRATS!!!!

I'm currently studying for the nclex. I work full-time and trying to fit in more than 2 hours a day to study. I work from 8a-4p but there's a lot of charting to do after work. Then there's mother duties after work as well.

Can you send me a copy of your study notes if you still have them?

Did you work? if so, how were you able to fit that many hours in for studying?

Thanks for any assistance.

Have a great day!!!!

If someone uses a gift card below 50$ or an invalid/ cancelled credit card. Would the person be able to check the persue Vue trick???

Did hurst help you?

I had a similar experience and used uworld and thought the test was so easy. I took my nclex yesterday May 2, 2016 in San Dimas, CA, and the test ended in 75 questions. I was wondering how you found out your results so quickly? Did you check the CA board of nursing via Breeze? Is your nclex ID the same as the License number ?

Sorry for all the questions. But just wondering how to check results. just want to know if i passed or not. Thanks!

Was hurst the only resource that you used?

Does anyone knows what is RN number in left hand side in California breeze
