Anybody know how long the AZBN actually takes to issue you a license # if you passed nclex?

Lol, called 'em today about that, specific issue. There's one person who actually flips the lever & turns on your license after you pass. That person worked a half day today. Their self-imposed guideline is ten days. In most cases, you get your license the next business day.
Thanks, the number was there last evening, whew!! Do you know, does that mean I can officially work as an RN or do I have to have my hard copy license in my hot little hand?

As soon as your number is posted your are officially licensed and can begin working as a nurse. CONGRATS!
No employer should be using your paper license for verification. It will not tell them if yours has been revoked. Some may require a physical copy for their records, but they will uses the state board website or nursys to verify that your license is active and in good standing. They can either print a paper license verification when they verify, or they came sit for you to get yours. It usually takes like a week or two to get your physical license. And yes, it is just as fun to get that as it is see your license number online. It makes it feel more real to have a physical item saying you are a nurse.
Congrats! I got mine the next day too. I was kinda miffed that there was another student from my class taking the test at the same time I did & he got a license & mine didn't come through until the following day.
looks like they're handing out 50+ licenses per day now, so if you don't have apps in, it's time to start sending them asap. Lots of competition ..
mrsboots87 Yes, when thought through an instant verification online would be far more reliable than a piece of paper that I'm imagining could be faked up. I asked cause I mistakenly, obviously, thought I read somewhere that even if you knew you passed nclex you still could not work as an RN til you received your official license in the mail.....
Nope. I was a CNA at a facility when I passed NCLEX. I was orienting as an RN less than a week later.
You our are good to go. Good luck in the job hunt!
