NCLEX-RN Good Pop Up

Published

Hi there!

Just posting my NCLEX experience so that some may learn a little from it!

As soon as I received my ATT, I scheduled my test for the nearest appointment. I did not study a thing since I had taken my last test in nursing school. I didn't even glance at a textbook or lab value before testing. I had always been a good student, and treated everything I learned in school like it was going to be on the NCLEX. I tried my hardest not to pump and dump all the info over the past two years.

Some of the study materials I used during school:

Priority, Delegation, and Assignment by LaCharity. (Really helped me with my SATAs in my last semester)

Saunders Comprehensive Review (Over the past two years I had probably went over every subject and question, and tried to really understand the rationale). And even the best of books will contradict themselves. )

NCLEX 4000.

After I checked in the center, I sat down and felt my heart beating through my earplugs. I was so nervous. Even the first tutorial question made me just think ***!? Haha so when I calmed down, I tried my best to think through each question. Around 65, I felt myself clicking faster and faster, haha! I had to calm myself and make myself really read each question. It shut off after 75, and my heart started to beat hard again. Darn survey afterwards!! How can anyone possibly even think about that after that test.

Ran to my car, and tried the PVT. It worked!! So if anyone is worrying, you can try the PVT immediately as long as it says Delivery Successful.

My test had a good amount of SATA (I don't know how anyone knows the exact amount!!) Haha I was too much in the zone to memorize how many of which questions I got. So my estimate: maybe 10-20 SATA, handful of calculations, many priority, few maternal/child, few psych, LOTS OF MEDS! Not to scare anyone, because the test is different for everyone, but every time I felt like I got on a roll, there was this medicine or procedure I had never ever heard about.

Good luck to everyone! I am checking my BON every 5 minutes to see if my license will post soon!

Haha congrats & I used that whiteboard they give u & did tally marks everytime I got a SATA
