Hi, my friend just failed her first attempt at the NCLEX (RN) last week. She indicated that she used Hurst study lectures (videos), notes and practice exams (five w/ 125 questions each), and also she had a question app on her phone, I think Kaplan (or Pearson?), that had a few thousand questions of which she did about 300 or 400.
She seems to do well on fact-based questions, but was very frustrated that her exam was so judgement and critical thinking intensive, and she didn't feel adequately prepared for those types of questions.
So the question is ... given that she is going to re-take the exam in six weeks (or so), what is the best review (notes, questions, app, mock exams, etc.) to build critical thinking and judgement skills? I saw in another post that the PDA book was recommended to build critical thinking skills.
What do you think? Any advice on how she could best use her six weeks of study time would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
