Hello,
I just made my test date today for December 12 and I am sooooo scared what to study. I graduated the end of September and have been going back to use the schools lippincott NCLEX PN 3000 (has anyone used this and liked it?) Please give me any advice you have and what resourses I should use. There's 29 sections in that lippincott thing and I've done about 13, Im trying to do 1 a day. I want to pass my boards the first time! I don't want to drag this out forever. Also does anyone know in California when I should about know my results with that date? Thank you all so much! Please wish me luck!!!!!

I just took the NCLEX PN on 11/22/08. I wish there was something in specific that I could tell you to study that would make you prepared. First things first, I had several SATA questions, about 6 math calculations, a single question on confidentiality, several on prioritizatio/delegation, a couple of questions dealing with lab values. I was done in an hour and a half and have been freaking out since then wondering if i passed or not. I didn't have an approach to preparing for it, although I could have utilized virtual ATI and Kaplan Qbank. I stepped out on FAITH and relied upon all that I had learned/retained over the past year that I was in school. Relax. Take a Breahter. You can do this thing. And you will do fine, just believe in yourself and the Lord will do the rest...:bowingpur

I received My ATT letter on November 12th, saying I could test after the 15th. I scheduled it for November 17th, received my results December 5th (and that is with a Thanksgiving holiday in between, not sure how much time the office takes off for that?) I am driving down to Sac. tomorrow to pay for my license and get a temp paper until the "real" license comes in the mail. But I believe with my "temp" paper I can get a job. We'll see, eh?
Because of one of our two hospitals in town just recently went bankrupt and was sold, then laid of something like 40+ RNs ? There is a lot of wrestling for jobs around here. LVNs don't work the hospitals up here, but it seems to have affected the nursing job market all around, and I'm eager to get my license before others in my class (OCT) and December grads are out looking for jobs.
So anyway, it was quick for me, the results were 18 total days I believe? Hope that helps!
