I'm taking NCLEX Thursday. Some of my friends have already taken the test, their advice is to NOT study. I have been doing the Kaplan Q bank. But how do you study for Pharm? She said almost every med she had, she had never heard of it. How do you prepare for that?? Thanks

I most definitely think you should study to be a safe, and effective nurse! This is all about patient safety at the end if the day. My advice is to study the medications by its class, and not individually.

List of drug classifications.
Learn the drug classifications and side effects based on these classifications. If they give you drug and you don't know it, try to look at the endings to fiqure out the the classification is, and know the side effects based on this.
Also, look at the examcram sheet to see if there are any specifics you may need to memorize, lithium levels, dig toxicity, etc.
Pharm Illustrated was good. Just new the classification and side effect.
Thanks everyone for your help. I have been studying, and I will be studying today & tonight before the exam tomorrow
