Hello everyone! I'm scheduled to sit for my exam on 5/28. I'm anxious to take it but it's actually a "good" type of anxious! This is my third trial and I'm praying to pass this time! I've been using Hurst, Kaplan QBank, and PDA by LaCharity for studying.
My scores for Hurst so far:
QReview 1: 76/125
QReview 2: 81/125
I plan on taking the third one today, and just relax on Tuesday. I'm asking you all for your prayers and I would appreciate it very much. It's been a long time coming, but I am ready to be a nurse and knock this exam out of the park. It's time to write a new chapter in my life and move forward to becoming an RN! By the grace of God, I plan to walk out of the testing center an LPN! I know He will do it! :)
I can't wait to share my testimony.
So guys, I just finished my exam almost an hour ago. Stopped right at 85, had a lot of SATA, priority, follow-up teaching questions, 1 EKG, no math, some pharm. I either did extremely horrible or I passed lol. So hoping for the latter. I wasn't expecting to only do 85, and my mind went blank like "OMG NOOOO I WANT MORE QUESTIONS!" Thank you all so much for your prayers. NCLEX was tough, but I feel as if Hurst really prepared me for it! I'm not gonna do the PVT this time, I'm just gonna wait for the official results to come in
WOW...it's over..THANK YOU JESUS. I hope all will work out for you. I am using the Hurst RN review to study for the nclex-pn. I like it because I can take my time and just review my friend used this for her RN review. I have all the videos and the live review stuff. I don't have the anything else...good luck put us posted...:)

Yes I am honestly happy it's over! I couldn't take looking at another NCLEX anything. I will definitely keep you all posted. It should be posted on the FL BON either tomorrow or Friday. :)
Hello,
I am new to all nurses. I have read a lot of your post. I am currently studying for NCLEX-PN with Hurst and Kaplan Qbank also. I was wondering what were your scores for the Kaplan Q BANK and what was your study plan for the HURST review? I will be taking NCLEX for 2nd time and I really want to pass. I have faith in you I know you passed

My scores from Kaplan Qbank ranged from 50%-70%, and with Hurst QReview, 76/125, 81/125, and 91/125. I also used LaCharity and my scores ranged from 50%-70% as well. My study plan for Hurst was, I watched all of the videos and got my lecture notes filled out (the book they give you). Once I had watched all the videos, I started breaking it down by 1-2 topics a day, I would do mock lectures, go to Quizlet section for Hurst and do flashcards, and for my weaker areas, I reviewed them multiple times. I'm very sure you will pass your exam! And thank you so much, I pray I passed this time! :) Good luck!
My cumulative score for Kaplan is 55% and I've done 47% of the questions. I've been trying to increase my scores but nothing has helped so far. Any tips? Thank you so much I will check out the Quizlet Hurst Section and start making notecards.
Honestly, my tip would be not to focus so heavily on the scores. The importance of doing questions is to understand the rationales, knowing why you got it wrong or why you got it right. If you continue to focus on what score you're making it will discourage you. Yes, definitely check out Quizlet.. you don't even have to make the flashcards because everything from the lecture notes are on there - true lifesaver!
You are so right I have been getting really discouraged when I get a low score.I make sure to go over all the rationales and write down the rationales for the questions I get wrong. Quizlet sounds awesome because it takes me a while to make note cards sometimes. Was there any particular creater/user's notecards that you found to be the most helpful? I want to pass so bad. It feel like my whole is on hold because of NCLEX.

That's good, keep writing the rationales down if you need to, because you will always have it tucked away in your memory! There wasn't a specific user I used for Quizlet, I just typed Hurst in the search field and I would click on the topic I was reviewing for that day. And aww, I so know how you feel from experience, I felt the same way. All I could do was breathe NCLEX and after failing it twice I've been so ready to pass. I'm just praying that this is my last time taking it. Keep the faith and I promise you will pass!
I have been review the Hurst Review RN which is a lot of information but it has made it easy to understand. Listening to the topics being explain to me has me understand it more. I failed the nclex -pn 1 time already back in March and ..I didn't ready have the money to be giving away . This time I been trying to take my time and understand the subject better . For me I understood the questions but it was very tricky with words. You must first understand the language of nclex...WHAT are they asking for...What out come do they want...? I was so overwhelmed with information that I didn't have a plan of study ...wrong move...make a plan...like study for 1 to 2 hours out of a day and force on ONE thing at a time. If you have to get up early or go to bed late make it your plan. Baby steps each day and then reward yourself with a review test over the stuff. This nurse told me that it's not about how many question you do everyday...like over 200 to 300 question but it's about YOU understanding what you know, so do 10 to 30 questions a day at first to understand IT period.
