nclex-pn frustration! help and suggestions?

Published

Hi all!

I'm taking my nclex-pn at the end of the month. I've been studying using Saunders and NCSBN. I feel "ok" about it, but when I take quizzes, I average about 60-70%. I need help! I feel like I'm doing everything right - I read, take notes, read, and do questions. But when it comes to the quizzes I barely pass or even fail with a 60 something percent. Any suggestions? Am I the only one?

I appreciate it!

as long as you know your doin right and working hard you'll be fine.. :)

As caliotter3 said "Don't get caught up in the scores, instead rely upon your judgement about how well prepared you are"

Try to relax and think positive. think of ways how to lessen your anxiety as the day comes.

Good luck and il pray for you.

We'll gonna pass the NCLEX Exam!:nurse:

Thanks! I really appreciate it! I'm trying to stay positive, but it's so frustrating and tiring sometimes but I know it'll be worth it. I NEED to remain positive. I kick myself sometimes cause I feel as if I'm failing myself when I see the quiz scores.....

Thanks for the motivation and prayers! Will definitely keep you in my prayers as well...

We WILL pass! :yeah:

read some threads your interested in and it will help you (in a way it helped me) to think you are not alone. im new here but by just reading some of the experiences posted helped me to lessen my tension. hope it'll help you feel better too :)

I posted in a couple threads of my nclex-pn experience (study plan, types of test questions, etc.).

Check them out and they will give you some ideas. I took the test in Feb and passed.

I used Saunder's exclusively - and did every ? on the bonus CD. I felt (and was) prepared.

I used saunders after I graduated and used Davids during school. I ALWAYS averaged around a 70% on every section of questions I did. I just passed my NCLEX PN. I think they make the questions in the review books really difficult so that you are prepared for anything. I graduated in Jan of 2011 and studied maybe 5 hrs tops for the test after graduation. Find areas that you are weak in and focus more on those. Don't worry so much about how many you are getting wrong, focus more on why you got that question wrong and then move on and try to get it right the second time. Good luck and don't stress so much you will do fine!

Take a break from studying and relax. After your brain has rested for a day or two, you should be energized to start working at it again. And good luck.

You guys are awesome. Thanks for the insight and support. I'm super anxious and at the same time can't wait to get it over with.

Thanks for the positive vibes, I need it. Congrats on those of you who have passed!
