NCLEX PN is driving me crazy!

Published

I just graduated from an LPN program about 2 months ago, and because I work part-time I just gathered up the $200.00 to pay for my boards. I scheduled my test for August 17th, which is about in 3 weeks, and I am going crazy!!! I have been studying my tail off but I do not know if I am studying information that may come up. It doesn't help that everytime I log in to facebook my classmates are continually posting that they passed. As much as I am happy for them I feel that is putting me under a great deal of pressure. I took the ATI review and found that it was not helpful at all. Now I am stuck with a wordy ATI review book and an Exam Cram book I purchased on my own. I really do not know what to focus on..I know my lab values and pharmacology is a breeze but everything else overwhelmes me..Any ideas on what areas to focus on? I feel like my head is going to bust open.

If your classmates can pass you can pass. Email me [email protected] and maybe I can send u some study materials that our whole class used. All but 1 passed boards.

Stay positive you can do this. I'm studying for the NCLEX too. I have to pay the fee next week and mail my application. I want to take it within a month or two. I want to read the whole Saunder book and practice as many questions as I can from the CD. I want to make sure I'm ready before taking it.

Remember your ABCD and maslows

I also am prepping for the NCLEX & pharmacology is NOT a breeze for me. It's my biggest struggle. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I would love to get any study aides that anyone would be willing to share. Also, one of my instructors has advised us to do at least 100 questions a day, every day to prep for the NCLEX. I did some work in a Dr's office with 2 girls from the same program I graduated from. They had graduated the year before, one had passed the NCLEX the other had not. The one who passed said the only thing she used was ATI. I just don't like that program, but I have been doing the tests. Thanks in advance.

I used NCLEX-PN review made incredibly easy and Kaplan's strategies, review and practice. They were both very helpful. My instructor gave me a great piece of advice and that was not to "over study". She said students get caught up in trying to remember every thing and forget to use their nursing judgement. I stopped studying the day before I tested and just took a break from it all. Good luck to all who are testing!
