NCLEX Pass Rates?

Published

I notice many of these schools throw out their students' NCLEX pass rates like candy. Does anyone know where I can find hard stats on NCLEX pass rates with corresponding schools? Thanks!

Have wondered this myself and haven't really found anything. Maybe someone else can tell us ?

Try this:

http://www.ncsbn.org/public/regulation/licensure_stats.htm

This is for the year 2000 and below I believe.

There is also one for the year 2003 I think.

Try this too for 2003

Try this one too. It's interesting.

Also, if you go to your state board of nursing, they can provide you with information about particular schools most likely.

Thanks, interesting stuff but still not what I was seeking. Guess those stats would be private but it seems if schools are going to make the claims, then there should be public info to back it up.

The State Board of Nursing has the numbers and they have no problem telling you if you call. They may even have the info posted on their website, Georgias does- or used to, I haven't looked in a while.

Your state board of nursing!!!! I just left Ohio's site and wow am I shocked!

Thanks, you are correct!!

In addition to looking at NCLEX pass rates, I would also recommend that you look at the school's attrition rates. If they have 100% pass rate on the NCLEX but half the students flunk out, that makes that particular school look a lot less desirable!

The pass rates are posted in our state board of nursing but for the year when I know three people failed the first time they list that college as have a 100% pass rate. Maybe they mean for multiple times but doesn't seem really honest.

The Texas Board of Nursing posts them on their website. They list all schools (Diploma to MSN) and their individual pass rates for the past 10 years.

I agree with the comment about the attrition rates although I don't know how you get accurate info there. It may be that the State board had that info too but don't trust what your school says. We were told there was 50% attrition rate and we lost that many the first semester. By the time we graduate it will be more like 75%.
