Oh GOD i am so grateful. God never fail. To be honest with you, prayers is the key to success in this Nclex examination. I have to wait for the official result before rejoicing. Congrats! How long did you study for? How many hours per day? Thanks!
patients to see first.
1st priority:emergent(red) :unstable patients who require immediate care to save life, example : occluded airway,active hemorrhage,severe respiratory or cardiac arrest,chest pain,acute neurological deficient,trauma,limb amputation,chemical splashes to the eyes. always use your nursing judgement.
2nd priority:urgent (yellow): stable patients who can wait 30-60 minutes for treatment, example moderate burn,eye injury,simple fracture,asthma without respiratory distress,fever,hypertension,abdominal pain or renal stone.
3rd priority: nonurgent ( green)- stable patients who can wait longer to be treated: example walking wounded,minor laceration,sprain, cold symptoms.
4th priority: black: unstable patients having massive injuries that will probably prove fatal, example massive body trauma,supportive and comfort measures provided like pain control
doa= dead on arrival.
always use your nursing judgement. this is just for the purpose of nclex studies.
i hope this will help others.
I used the saunders book for content,studied every page, Kaplan and priority book. I also answered all the medication questions from the saunders book.
I strongly recomend the saunders book for content. If you know the content, you will have an idea of what the question is all about. Goodluck.
I studied the saunders book for about 2weeks plus, When i get tired, i will take a break and then back to the book. Determination is the key to success. Goodluck.
