Hi, I've been reading a lot of posts and see that many people are saying that they had a lot of meds on their nclex that they'd never heard of. Were you able to figure out what the med was by breaking apart the word, or was only the brand name given? I took the test once already, and I think I only got the brand names. I know it's impossible to remember every med, so people recommend remembering the endings, but does this help on the test if both names aren't given?

I probably had about 50% of my questions on meds - mostly teaching and interventions for patients taking certain mediciations. Some were brand names I recognized or could figure out from the endings. But I did have other meds I've never heard of before that I couldn't place in a category based on the name.....and still have no clue what the medication is because I can't remember the spelling to look it up in my drug book....
